What is NEO-K?

文部科学省受託事業「日本語教師養成・研修推進拠点整備事業（関東甲信越ブロック）」

（Nihongo Educational Organization in Kantokoshinetsu）の通称です。

The MEXT-commissioned project “Japanese Language Teacher Training and Professional Development Promotion Hub Development Project (Kanto–Koshinetsu Block)” (commonly referred to as　the Nihongo Educational Organization in Kanto-Koshinetsu).

日 本語教育を必要とする人たちの架け橋になれればと思います。
関東甲信越ブロック、とても広いエリアで、それぞれのエリアで、乗り越えるべき課題も異なると思いますが、日本語教育が果たす役割は大きくなっています。
日本語教育の充実に向けて、ネットワーク構築は欠かせません。
関東甲信越の日本語教育モデルを発信して参りましょう。

We hope to serve as a bridge for those who need Japanese language education.
The Kanto–Koshinetsu block covers a very wide area, and each region faces its own unique challenges.
Nevertheless, the role of Japanese language education is becoming increasingly important.
Building strong networks is essential to enhance Japanese language education.
Let us work together to share and promote a model of Japanese language education from the Kanto–Koshinetsu region.

本事業について

Project

関東甲信越地域のニーズに応じた日本語教師の養成や、質の高い研修を提供できる人材の輩出を目的に、事業展開をしています。

本事業は文部科学省より委託されており、全国６ブロック（北海道・東北、関東・甲信越、中部、近畿、中国・四国、九州・沖縄）で展開されています。筑波大学と東京外国語大学は関東甲信越ブロックの拠点校です。

筑波大学と東京外国語大学をハブとして、大学、日本語学校、企業などで日本語教師を養成・研修されるみなさまが抱える課題を、ともに解決していく事業です。

This project is designed to cultivate Japanese language teachers who respond to the needs of the Kanto-Koshinetsu region, and to foster professionals capable of delivering high-quality training.
Commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), the project is implemented across six regions nationwide. The University of Tsukuba and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies serve as the hub institutions for the Kanto–Koshinetsu region.
With these two universities as hubs, the project works collaboratively with universities, Japanese language schools, companies, and other organizations to address challenges in Japanese language teacher training and professional development.

NEO-Kの構成

Structure of NEO-K

NEO-Kは、以下の２つの部会が設置されています。

  • NEO-K地域ネットワーキング部会
  • NEO-K日本語教育テーマ部会

日本語教育テーマ部会は、さらに以下の２つの部会にわかれています。

  • （R７年度〜）子どもの日本語教育部会
  • （R８年度〜）就労・生活者の日本語教育部会（予定）

NEO-K has established the following two committees:
・NEO-K Regional Networking Committee
・NEO-K Japanese Language Education Thematic Committee
The Japanese Language Education Thematic Committee is further divided into the following two subcommittees:
・Japanese Language Education for Children Subcommittee (from FY 2025)
・Japanese Language Education for Workers and Community Residents Subcommittee (planned for FY 2026)

Working together with members of the local community and with organizations is essential to addressing regional challenges.
Anyone involved in Japanese language teacher training or professional development—including students enrolled in teacher training programs—is welcome to register.
